Here at Smile32 Family Dentistry, we offer complimentary beverages, headphones & a wide selection of music, DVD movies, hand warmers, warm neck wraps, aromatherapy, massaging chairs, and cozy blankets for your comfort to make your visit more comfortable.

Some of the most common dental fears are:

  • embarrassment about the condition of teeth
  • gagging
  • injections
  • loss of control
  • pain, not being completely numb
  • sounds of the hand piece (or the “drill”)

How can you overcome dental anxiety?

Dental anxiety and fear can become completely overwhelming.  It is estimated that as many as 35 million people do not visit the dental office at all because they are too afraid.  Receiving regular dental check-ups and cleanings is incredibly important and it also the easiest way to maintain excellent oral hygiene and reduce the need for more complex treatments.

Here are some tips to help reduce dental fear and anxiety at Smile32 Family Dentistry:

Talk to us – At Smile32 Family Dentistry, we can’t read minds.  Though it can be hard to talk about irrational fears with a stranger, the staff at Smile32 Family Dentistry can help ease your fears and anxiety if they are communicated.

Bring a portable music player – Music acts as a relaxant and also drowns out any fear-producing noises.  Listening to calming music throughout the appointment will help to reduce anxiety. We also offer relaxing scenery movies to help calm you further.

Agree on a signal –At Smile32 Family Dentistry, we discuss ways to communicate during the procedure if anything is bothering you. Just a raise of your left hand will let Dr. Mona Kaur knows that you would like a break or are feeling something uncomfortable.
